ADVANTAGES
YK-11 was first created as a novel compound in 2011 by Yuichiro Kanno of Toho University who confirmed in a study that this compound was in fact a SARM. YK-11 is a partial androgen receptor agonist binding weakly at the androgen receptor and a potent myostatin inhibitor. Myostatin is a protein that slows muscle cells growing and dividing. YK-11 causes increased levels of another protein called Follistatin. Follistatin is an antagonist that suppresses the activity of Myostatin, leading to faster muscle growth and cell development in muscle tissue.

YK-11 can increase Follistatin production more than DHT – which the strongest male hormone we naturally produce. Usually, excess DHT would have the effect of causing baldness and prostate enlargement as side effects, but not with YK-11 – it doesn’t have this side effect at all due to it’s weak AR affinity. The methyl ester may cause very mild liver toxicity in long-term high dose use.
